The Sunday Edition for March 13, 2022

I’m so excited to start this new weekly blog post where I share some things I’ve been absolutely loving as well as just a few updates from our life. I love reading this kind of blog post from other bloggers to get to know them better and to see what they are loving, using, and recommending. Tell me in the comments if you enjoy this style of blog post and if there are any products or recommendations I can share with you!

Favourite workout

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably already know that since the pandemic hit, I’ve been obsessed with Peloton workouts. I used to love going to the gym and doing a class, so at first I wasn’t sure if Peloton workouts would fill that spot, but they definitely have! Last week I did two amazing workouts:

  • Anna Greenberg’s 30 Minute Yoga Class: the playlist was juicy and the flows were so opening and beautiful. I also love Anna’s style of teaching, she explains moves so well, and as a yoga newbie, this is very appreciated!

  • Callie Gullickson’s 45 Minute Bike Bootcamp: I love bike bootcamp because it’s the best of both worlds, cardio and strength. This playlist was so fun, especially if you’re on TikTok haha! It was challenging but I just loved every second of it!

What I’ve been wearing

Speaking of workouts, I got a new workout set from Joe Fresh this week that screams Spring, it is so comfortable and supportive. I’ve never bought workout leggings from Joe Fresh but I’m very impressed. I also LOVE Joe Fresh jeans, they have great washes, they fit well, and are comfortable. I bought two new pairs this week and love them, they are the only jeans I’ve been wearing.

What I’ve been listening to

I listened to the Goop podcast with Gwyneth Paltrow interviewing Billy Porter, it made me laugh, cry, think, and reflect. It was such a great episode about writing your story, finding your passion, and building a better world for the people around us. Highly recommend you listen, I think I’ll listen to it again with Topher, he’d really enjoy it, I think.

In terms of music, I’ve been cycling through the Taylor Swift Folklore album, Phoebe Bridgers, Emily James, and Maisie Peters. I’ve also rediscovered Billy Joel after hearing Vienna on a few TikTok videos. I used to listen to Billy Joel in high school with some friends while we made pottery in the ceramics studio, so it’s a flashback haha!

What I’m reading

I just finished Detransition Baby by Torrey Peters and I’ve been thinking constantly about the story and how to be a better ally to the Trans community. The storyline was beautiful and difficult and really made me think about privileges I have that I’ve never considered especially around motherhood.

I started We Are Not Like Them by Christine Pride and Jo Piazza this morning and after 30 pages it’s safe to say it’s going to be a really, really good book, I’m already hooked and want to pick it back up and read some more!

What we’ve been eating

Now, this is the good part! ;) Okay, I have made a lot of sweet treats this week, I’m trying to stay about 3-4 weeks ahead of schedule in terms of recipes, this is mostly because I’m not sure when I’ll be without our kitchen and I want to have content and recipes to share with you throughout the renovations! I also, don’t know the extent to which our kitchen will be torn out or how functional it will be.

This week I’ve been shooting recipes for Easter, like Maple Cinnamon Buns and Greek Roasted Chicken. Both of these recipes were so good. I love a good roasted chicken and this one is lemony, herby, and the potatoes cook alongside the chicken and get coated in all the yummy juices and flavours. Yum!

We’ve also been enjoying classic, easy dinners like Salmon with roasted sweet potatoes and broccoli, and a delicious peanut chicken stir fry that I definitely have to share with you, it was so flipping delicious!

Final favourites

I’ve treated myself to fresh flowers now, two weeks in a row and I have to say it is the best treat ever, if you can, buy yourself a bunch of tulips or any flowers and watch your mood transform!

Last week our new kitchen faucet arrived and I’m absolutely obsessed with it, it really encompasses the direction were going with the renovations, clean, warm, “Modern English Countryside” (according to my Pinterest searches), and lots of warm metals, whites, and organic lines like a glazed brick backsplash. Eeekk! I’m so excited!!

An aged brass kitchen faucet with a marble countertop and sink. Windows are in the background.

That’s all for this week. Sending you big hugs and good vibes for this coming week!
