The Sunday Edition: March 27, 2022

Happy Sunday, friends. I think the full moon this week got to me. Early on in the week, I was feeling all the feelings, good, bad, and everything in between! I’m grateful that it’s Sunday, we’re heading into a new week, and we get a fresh start. I kind of love Mondays for that reason, it’s a new week with so much potential!

Last week was a bit hectic, I’m working towards a four-day workweek and really trying to be better at batching my work. I’m getting there but it’s an adjustment and just like any change, there are always growing pains. Part of the perks of entrepreneurship is creating your own schedule, so taking Fridays as a flex day is my goal. I never feel like the weekend is long enough to clean the house, do laundry, have an adventure, and take some downtime. So Fridays are my new cleaning/laundry/errands day along with some professional development and downtime to go for a long walk or do something just for me.

The exciting news is that we welcomed Spring last weekend and we are even seeing lots of the bulbs we planted last fall start to poke their heads out of the ground!

Things I’m loving, wanting, and excited to try

I’m obsessed with the look of a clean and crisp button-up, collared shirt tucked into a pair of jeans. I’m also very into a white oxford shirt under an oversized sweatshirt. Thanks, TikTok for the fashion inspo, lol!

I’ve been on the hunt for a beautiful oil diffuser since last Fall when ours broke in a freak accident. Our windows were open and there was a picture frame behind the diffuser the wind knocked over the frame which knocked our diffuser off the table and it broke. Crazy, right?! Anyways, I love these diffusers and this colour is perfect for Spring.

This cream blush is so blendable and buildable, I wear it every day and love it so much. I have the colour called freedom.

I’m dreaming of sunny days lounging on our back deck under this umbrella.

Common Kitchen Renovation Mistakes, I need to take note!

Inside Gwyneth Paltrow’s Home Tour, her kitchen and entryway are goals.

Best kitchen hacks

  1. Always have shortcut ingredients on hand. My favourites: pesto, curry paste, red chili sauce, jarred pasta sauce.

  2. Store fresh herbs in a damp tea towel in a resealable bag, but don’t seal the bag! This keeps your herbs moist but not wet and your herbs will stay fresh for at least 10 days if not longer.

  3. Must-have kitchen tools for every single person: a cast-iron skillet, a pairing knife, a chef’s knife, and a cutting board.

  4. Use a meal plan to take the stress and overwhelm out of deciding what’s for dinner.

Tell me in the comments:

1. What’s your favourite show/movie right now? Let’s hear your top 3?

2. What’s your favourite flower? My favourites change with the seasons, I love ranunculus.

3. What is your favourite place to vacation? Currently, Hawaii is my all-time fave.

4. What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week?

5. When you read the Sunday Favorites post, what are your favourite sections?
